Starting from Flüela / Eggberge (cable car from Flüela to Eggberge - there is a bus stop at the valley station, but you can do also the 15 min. walk from Flüela train station to the cable car)
WHEN ?
You can do this H+F all year round. Best starting directions on Schön Chulm: SW, S or SE. If you search a bit, you can also find launch sites for other takeoff-directions in the area, e.g. on nearby Hagelstock (NW, W, SW).

POSSIBILITIES
Especially in spring, the chances are good for thermalling and xc flying. Most xc pilots head east and try to make the Klausenpass and reach the Canton of Glarus.
DANGERS & RESTRICTIONS
Keep in mind that the canton of Uri is very susceptible to "Föhn".
Beware of the cable below the launch site, which you will however see well as you climb up. There are several other cables. Consult swisstopo and search for "Air navigation obstacles" (https://map.geo.admin.ch/).
